She has spent the past several years honing experience in journalism, interviewing, radio hosting, podcasting, digital and print writing, TV broadcast journalism, video and TV producing, audio and video production and social media managing.
She is proficient in using Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Audacity, HTML coding, CSS, Videolicious, iMovie, Canva, Piktochart, Hootsuite, BundlePost, WordPress, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and more.
She is an experienced AP style writer and skilled photographer and video producer.
She has on-camera interviewing and hosting experience both for TV and YouTube. She is comfortable both on camera and behind the camera, as well as producing.
Currently she works as a field producer for KUSI’s “Prep Pigskin Report,” reporting on local high school football games for the nation’s #1 ranked high school football show. She writes TV scripts, produces TV packages, interviews on-camera and writes articles for KUSI’s website.
Victoria also currently works as a music journalist. She is the junior editor of Soundigest and oversees the interviewing team of nine journalists, editing their articles, working with publicists and record labels to set up interviews and conducting her own interviews. Victoria has interviewed X Ambassadors, K Camp, Rapsody, COIN, Citizen, Jay 305, Jahkoy, Rozes, RoadTrip, Alex Aiono, Liz Huett, Ocean Park Standoff, Now, Now, Stanaj, Mondo Cozmo, The Skins, Young Rising Sons, Nightly, Mackenzie Sol, The Shadowboxes and more.
She is the Editor-in-Chief and creator of Aztec Music Group‘s electronic home for music journalism, The Corner. She started The Corner blog with artist interviews and music news, and the blog has since expanded to cover a range of concert reviews, artist interviews, music news and more. Victoria writes for the publication, edits posts and oversees a team of student music journalists.
Victoria has also hosted a news radio show for KCR College Radio on AM 1610 and blogged for the station as well. She and her co-host won “Best News Show” for covering international, political and local news. Victoria live-tweeted student protests, engaged her listeners via social media and she and her co-host even hosted a live debate between representatives from the College Republicans and College Democrats on SDSU’s campus on Nov. 8, presidential election day.
Victoria is also knowledgable about social entrepreneurship and social media. She has worked as a social media manager for two large San Diego based companies and as a booking producer for a brand journalism and marketing podcast, which in 2015 was named a top marketing podcast by Cision.
Victoria enjoys volunteering at the El Cajon Animal Shelter, surfing, going to concerts and travel blogging in her free time.
